Confession time: When it comes to my skin-care regimen, I tend to ignore my lips. What drew me to Mutha Pucker Lip Butter was that it wasn’t just your average lip care treatment; it is formulated with ingredients that help stimulate collagen, which is something that I’m reminded is dwindling from my body every single damn day as I get older.

Any skin-care fan knows that peptides are important for collagen and elastin production, but I was curious as to how they work to specifically enhance lips. Ava Shamban, MD, a board-certified dermatologist based in Beverly Hills, describes it, interestingly, as “a bit of a magic trick, or a quick fix trick of the lips that is part illusion and part true function.” She goes on to explain how each peptide type has a function within the skin cells. My honest review

Like many aughts-era trends, lip plumpers are back in, but some of us might not want that burning feeling that Dworaczyk Smith mentioned, which so many of them had. I was curious how this would compare to the old-school plumpers.
